Lt. Governor Steve Pence announcing a Drug Court for McCracken County

Chief Supreme Court Justice Joseph Lambert announcing a Drug Court will start April 2005 in McCracken County. Justice Lambert said the more that 50 drug courts now in operation in Kentucky have a 65 per cent success rate according to a University of Kentucky study.

 


Jailer Cliff Gill asking Chief Justice Lambert if the drug court will reduce the jail's 447 inmate population. Justice Lambert explained the drug court class will have 30 members and run over an 18 month period. Jailer Gill noted later that the drug court would have little immediate impact on the jail's population.
